Everyone is welcome to join the seven Rotary Clubs of Boroondara (Balwyn, Camberwell, Canterbury, Glenferrie, Hawthorn, Kew and North Balwyn) to celebrate Australia Day 2021 at Victoria Park, on the corner of High Street and Adeney Avenue, Kew. This will be a family-friendly, all-inclusive community event reflecting the theme Reflect, Respect and Celebrate. We're all part of the Story. There will be food vendors, craft market stalls, beverage vendors for the adults and a jumping castle and climbing wall for the kids. There will also be singing and dancing performances from a range of local multicultural community groups. The event commences at 11:00am with some light enetertainment, followed by Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by representatives of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage team. The 4th Kew Scouts will raise the Australian Flag, and Deputy Mayor Cynthia Watson will formally declare the event open. This will be followed by a national Rotary Broadcast on the big screen celebrating the Centenary of Rotary in Australia. The rest of the day is filled with multi-cultural singing and dancing events, as well as eating, drinking and shopping for craft items. The day will conclude at 5:00pm. Entry is free. Second we will have a dinner (at own cost) in Melbourne at the Garden State Hotel, 101 Flinders Lane. Please Register for this Event separately - there will be no cost to register, but once again you need to register by 6pm Sunday - we need to know the numbers in advance.
