Food Bank Victoria
Nov 16, 2022
Chairman Geoff Heath Dave McNamara is a socially-minded former chef whose passion for food has taken him from working in some of Melbourne's most well known restaurants to leading the largest food relief charity in Victoria. After many years working in the not for profit sector, Dave was appointed as Foodbank Victoria CEO in July 2013, bringing with him his lifetime love of food and drive to change the injustice of food insecurity that many people in Australai face. Dave's talk should be very interesting, particularly because of our Club's association with Foodbank from the very early days. |

The Club is undertaking it's yearly 38mate walk to build awareness of Myeloma - the theme derives from 38 Australians who are diagnosed every week with this incurable blood cancer - Camberwell Rotary has been associated with Myeloma Australia for over 20 years - and this continues with it's multi- Club/multi-District award-winning outreach ROMP initiative in regional Victoria. So SAVE THE DATE - 38mate Club Walk for Myeloma - Sunday 5th March 11.00am at Hawthorn Makers Market. You can register to walk on the myeloma website for $20 per person - www.myeloma.org.au - follow the 38mate prompts, to "Hawthorn Vic Walk" Both maroon and white TEAM MYELOMA tees are available here as well in most sizes ($30 ) and white 38mate baseball caps ($25) - but please order before 24th Feb to ensure delivery before the walk on 5th March. We will bring extra caps and tees to the market stall to purchase on the day - to ensure you can kit out to help build myeloma awareness during the walk. All families and pooches are welcome - as well as all Rotarians. It also coincides with the Glenferrie Festival Day on 5th March - so there will be road closures along this section of Glenferrie Rd to open it up for the festival and other community stallholders - expect music and good food options as well - so arrive early to secure any parking or come by train.
