On 18 April 2024, Michael Blood and President George de Souza attended the Box Hill Institute Student Awards. For the first time, the club sponsored three awards. The winners were:
Foundation Student of the Year - Celeste Rattray-Wood left; Certificate I in Work Education
Celeste (middle) had a remarkable 2023, filled with impressive academic and work-related achievements including part-time employment for the Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with a Disability (VALID). She attended the Speak Out Disability Expo in Tasmania on behalf of the organisation and spoke about her personal experiences living with a disability.
Trainee Student of the Year: Karen Sproat; Diploma Early Childhood Education & Care.
Karen’s (far right) aptitude for early childhood education is reflected in the outstanding quality of her coursework and her ability to apply her learning at the workplace.
She has received lots of praise for the skills and knowledge she displayed during her kindergarten placement.
Trainee Student of the Year: David Zanotto; Certificate III in HorticultureLeadership is one of David’s great strengths and he took pride in guiding younger students through the challenging parts of the course. He often volunteered to lead group projects, and his maturity and relationship management skills with peers and other stakeholders shone through.
David consistently worked hard to stay on top of his studies, and he would make a great ambassador for BHI.

On 24 April 2024, the club received a letter of thanks. Below is an extract:
