What is it really like being a member of Parliament as a woman? Rotary Camberwell got the opportunity to find out at a recent multi-club event hosted by Rotary Balwyn on 16 April 2024.A first-hand insight from Dr Monique Ryan, current member of the House of Representatives for Kooyong and Jessica Wilson, current member of the Legislative Assembly for Kew, shared their experience.
The audience was captivated by a refreshingly frank and personal perspective of their individual account with humorous anecdotes, together with a healthy respect and at times support and friendship from other women in Parliament.
