Adrian Campbell
A week ago, Patrick Docherty, Fabienne Nichola and I took the opportunity to visit Adrian at Caritas Christi Hospice in Kew. We were with him for about an hour and he was in good spirits and engaged well in conversation.
 
We were asked us to pass his regards to all members and is very appreciative of those members who have visited him. Naturally all visits need to be co-ordinated through Mandy Campbell.
 
 
Thank you also to all members who have supported Adrian’s son Louis who has started a fundraiser for Myeloma Australia coinciding with the running of the Melbourne Marathon on 12th October 2025. Louis target was $1,000 but as at 3rd October it has reached $16,000.00.

The Club's MG TFs on the Springtime Rally
In mid September we took our 70 year old recently restored Birch Grey MG TF 1500 on the MG Car Club's Springtime Rally, accompanied by Peter Pratt and his son Charlie in Pete's immaculate Red MG TF 1500. In total there were 40 old MGs of various marques.
 
The route took us to Shepparton via quiet but curly back roads to Nagambie for lunch, then on to the Museum of Vehicle Evolution (MOVE) in Kialla. After a tour of this fascinating museum we drove to Shepparton to our overnight accommodation.
 
What's the collective noun for a carpark of MGs?
 
Sunday involved a beautiful back-roads drive to Euroa for morning tea, then more beautiful back roads to Yea for lunch at the Country Club Hotel. The Rally finished here with a slap-up lunch, and awards were handed out - we were fortunate to win the "Publican's Best Car" award, where the publican checks out all the old MGs parked around his hotel. An 8-pack of Tooboorac beer was very welcome!
 
 
So Camberwell Rotary was well represented with three Members in two cars, and we all had a fantastic time.

Rotary Club of Glenferrie Invitation - 50th Anniversary
 
 
 
 
The Rotary Club of Glenferrie is proud to be celebrating a major milestone this month — our 50th Anniversary of Charter on Tuesday, October 22nd.

Over the past five decades, a strong bond has grown between Rotary clubs in Boroondara through years of working side by side on meaningful humanitarian projects, both locally and internationally. 2025 Rotary Walk With Us in Hawthorn
 
 
 
Register to join Rotarians for a walk along the Yarra while promoting the End Polio Campaign. Wear your red clothing - hat, shirt, beanie, jacket, socks........Walk as far as you wish. Your four legged furry friends are very welcome.

Park at Leonda and we will walk from there, on the boardwalk towards Kew / Dights Falls.
