Did you Know – it’s 5 years since the Rotary Club Of Camberwell won the prestigious RSL ANZAC Peace Price for our Seeds of Peace program.
To remind everyone - The Rotary Seeds of Peace project, an Anzac Day 2015 Centenary initiative in all the secondary schools of Boroondara, is being sponsored and supported by the local community Rotary Clubs of Boroondara. The objective of Seeds of Peace was to commemorate this special 100 year Anzac Day milestone, to build awareness of this Centenary, to encourage students to use this event to write peace essays, and to build youth peace leadership recognition within schools and the community. All Boroondara secondary schools were invited to take part, with 7 students finally selected (based on their peace essay submission) to travel to Gallipoli as peace scholars or peace youth ambassadors in April 2015, accompanied by Rotary appointed trip leader. Well Done to Adrian Campbell on this wonderful initiative

Teddies For Tanzania
Hi all if you missed out on adoption a teddy … never fear as I will bring some more into meetings over the next few weeks. The teddys came from Kurrajong North Richmond Rotary Club whose ladies knitted them for Interplast which is an NGO that sends volunteer doctors and pediatricians to third work countries and takes the teddies for the children. The teddies will go to the children at St Joseph’s Hospital.
They are $50 each . Your teddy will go to a specific child.
So far 14 teddies were adopted ready for distribution. There are so many more teddies waiting for adoption. You can also purchase for family and friends .
If you prefer to make a contribution please send $50 to
Team Vista Ltd

I will then write your name on a child’s card for you.
Thank you so much

Invitation to attend the 'Food Waste and the Environment' celebratory luncheon in honour of World Environment Day 2022

ENDING FOOD WASTE IS KEY TO OUR FUTURE

Rotary Food Waste & the Environment - Luncheon
Rotary with its partners, the Sofitel & the City of Melbourne, are proud to promote awareness of and positive outcomes for our environment.  “The Environment” has recently been adopted as an area of focus by Rotary International.
As a club of action in advocating for environmental stewardship, the Rotary Club of Melbourne has worked closely with the non-profit food rescue organisation - SecondBite - in the fight against food waste. The issue of reducing food waste  has been brought into even sharper focus by the Covid-19 pandemic, with statistics showing that roughly one-third of the food produced globally is either lost or wasted every year.
You and your colleagues are warmly invited to attend a fundraiser for SecondBite hosted by the Rotary Club of Melbourne with its partners the Sofitel – Melbourne and the City of Melbourne.  This event features a celebrity panel discussion to raise awareness of how we can reduce food waste to benefit the environment. A portion of the ticket price plus the proceeds of the raffle will support the vital work of SecondBite.  Purchase tickets HERE.

Camberwell Art Show Rostering - Commenced
The huge task of assembling the Volunteer Roster for this year's Camberwell Art Show has commenced.

But we need all able-bodied members to complete the "Non-Availability Roster" summary sheet and return it to David Troon as soon as possible to ensure we can accommodate everyone's preferences for dates and tasks. If you have not returned your sheet yet, or communicated with David Troon, DO IT NOW!
