Rotary friends and friends of Rotary

Happy New year and welcome back to Rotary 2022. I hope everyone has been able to have a break over the festive season and are ready to make a difference to people’s lives through Rotary
As we navigate the challenges over the next few months, look out for club updates and our meeting schedule from 9th February. It’s a moving schedule and we all need to be flexible

The club is planning to move ahead with

  1. Australia day BBQ event on 26th January 12pm – 3pm. It’s an outdoor event a Victoria Park @ 450 High Street Kew, it would be great to see as many members and families as possible enjoy a free BBQ lunch. Our Mayor Jane Addis will formally open the event. It promises to be a fun day with something for everyone including kids and grandkids. If anyone requires further information, please reach out to Fabienne
  2. The club will be presenting the Sikh’s a cheque for $2,000 @ The Australia Day event to support their herculean efforts during the pandemic. They will also be providing vegetarian food on the day. Did you know the Sikh’s Volunteers Australia have delivered 271,000 free meals from 18 Mar 2020 to 24 Oct 2021.585 days - everyday for the needy during the COVID19 Crisis.
  3. For A meal food packing night is scheduled for Wednesday 2nd February from 6pm – 8pm @ conchie Hall . the plan is to pack 14,000 meals on the night. There is no cost to participate, just bring a plate to share, look out for an email on how to book a spot, families and friends are invited to volunteer, book early as our numbers will be limited to 70
  4. The club has ordered through our district HQ 100 Rapid Antigen Kits (RAT) kits (2 tests per kit) the cost is $22 per kit, if you would like to place an order please email patrick@cfrsolutions.com.au. Delivery is scheduled between Friday 28th  – 1st February

 RAPID ANTIGEN TESTS (RATS) -

Our first meeting back on zoom and it was terrific to have 33 people attend, it was great to see Warwick Heil from Queensland join us & also John Steven. The upside from the Pandemic is our ability to adapt and embrace zoom meeting, enabling our members who might not be able to make face to face meeting still being able to participate and be an important part of our Rotary meetings

Congratulation to Vijay on the recent birth of his first grand daughter -  Amira

Have a good week in Rotary and stay safe
