Newly inducted member
Daya Govender was inducted as our newest member at our last club meeting. Following a conversation with David Baker at our last Camberwell Art Show resulted in Daya’s many visits to the club and subsequent invitation to join our club.
Daya has a long history with other Rotary clubs including Wagga Wagga, St Francois Missouri and more recently Monash Rotary Club. He brings a wealth of experience including as a past president which will be a valuable asset to the Camberwell Rotary Club.

He will join the Membership Committee and his mentor will be Fabienne Nichola. We look forward to Daya’s future contribution and friendship.
Member behind the Badge – Nadia Hamilton
Members were treated to a wonderful presentation from Nadia outlining her personal background and professional achievements. Nadia shared her remarkable life story which generated great interest and further strengthened friendship amongst our membership. Thank you Nadia for your engaging presentation.

endorsed the Board e-Motion for payment of $3,000 to Monash Team Med.
Vocational & Youth
confirmation of four confirmed RYLA participants, all have diverse vocations.
RYPEN - confirmed two students attending from Canterbury Girls High School.
a Chances Scholarship representative will speak at the Club Meeting on 8 November.
the Principal of Camberwell High School will be a guest of the Club at our meeting on 22 November and the Committee plans to support their Welfare Program.

A proposal was accepted in principle to increase the HMM marketing budget
President George de Souza sends greetings participating in a medical mission in the Philippines, a long-standing project of Canterbury Rotary Club while keeping a keen eye on club matters.
Special thanks to Patrick Docherty for stepping in to run the club meeting as I was inadvertently detained.

District Secretary Jane Pennington will outline the recent voting and survey Regionalisation request.
The following week on 1 November 2023 will be a social meeting only. It will be held at Tesoro Gastronomia, 280 Doncaster Road Balwyn North for authentic Italian food and member interaction.

Following a lot of behind the scenes work by Job Oppy and his Art Show Committee, dates have now been locked in for the 2024 Camberwell Art Show: Sat 22 - Sun 30 June at Swinburne University (ATC Building). The Gala Opening is on Friday 21st June.

We are pleased to announce that Myeloma Australia will be hosting the first Greatest Call Long Lunch at The Glass House in Melbourne on Wednesday 6th March 2024. We have a huge line up of talent that will keep you entertained as well as beautiful food from The Big Group. The purpose of the event is to raise the profile of myeloma and Myeloma Australia in the wider community.
We will have some big names from the sporting commentary world that will sit alongside our Ambassador Sandy Roberts. Sandy will be joined by his friends and colleagues Bruce McAvaney, OAM, Eddie McGuire, Brian Taylor and Jennifer Keyte to name a few with musical entertainment provided by Frankie J. Holden, OAM.

As part of my club visit program, I have been endeavouring to provide club leaders and members with an overview of the current state of play with Regionalisation.
As I am unlikely to reach all clubs within the implementation timeline, I am sending this video to you for use as you see appropriate.
This has come to me via our Governor Team representative on the Steering Group and I feel it provides a succinct overview of what we are currently faced with.

The Ulumbarra Theatre is a 953-seat theater in Bendigo, Victoria. It opened in 2015 and is located on the site of the Sandhurst Goal which closed in 2004.
