When you serve to change lives, your actions today can help extend the lives of others.

Libby after a distinguished career of 33 year at Vic Police  is now at Ambulance Victoria as the chief operations manager , her role Responsible to the CEO to ensure a collaborative approach to the delivery of integrated, effective and efficient state wide operational services in line with organisational performance targets. This includes the management of response to the community and logistical services.

You could imagine how busy Libby would be in this role and she has kindly taken time out of her busy schedule to be our guest speaker , so please, get off the couch and make an effort and attend this week’s meeting.
ART Show Chairman Murray Anderson has set a Sponsorship partner target of $50,000, I recently heard local finance broking firm Melbourne Mortgage Centre has signed on once again, I’ve heard a lot of good things about this business and glad to hear they will be part of the Art Show, keep up the good work Murray and his team

It was terrific that 30 Rotarians and partners attended our Vocational visit to Temple Brewing Co in Brunswick East. We were treated to a tour out the back “where the magic happens” the enthusiasm from the 2 young brewers about their trade was intoxicating, they have a creative and nimble business and have successfully been delivering many gold & Silver medal winning beers, my favourite that I will be enjoying when watching Carlton as they keep winning is the Bicycle Beer, a crisp and refreshing beer, thank you to Maria and her committee for organising this visit and meal
Dates for your diary

Last week PE Fabienne & PEN George had the pleasure of representing the Camberwell Rotary club alongside honorary member Mayor Jane Addis @ the Boroondara Citizenship certificate ceremony, together they welcomed 107 new Aussies to our community……  George, The kid from Calcutta was quoted as saying “ it brought back a lot of fond memories  of how proud I was when  I became an Australian Citizen”

Camberwell Art Show - Update

The Art Show Committee is working hard to make the 2022 Show a great success. Negotiations are progressing well with Swinburne. The Art Galleria online platform is continuing to be developed, all Operations, Marketing and Events planning is well advanced. It's all systems GO!

As a reminder, please ensure the following date are in your diaries. As in previous years, setting up and running the Camberwell Art Show is a "Whole of Club" project which requires literally 1000s of hours of volunteering, and it is expected that every Club Member will contribute their effort in some way toward a successful show.

  • Bump In: Monday 20 June
  • Paintings Receive: Tuesday 21 June
  • Layout and Hanging: Wednesday 22 - Thursday 23 June (note our Wednesday Night Meeting will be held at Swinburne)
  • Finalise Hanging & Clean-up: Friday 24 June
  • Gala Opening: Friday 24 June
  • Show Open to Public: Saturday 25 June - Sunday 3 July
  • Paintings Hand-back: Sunday 3 July - Monday 4 July
  • Bump Out: Tuesday 5 July
The days marked in red are the days that require the most volunteers.

So I would like all members to assist with:

  1. Sponsorship: try and find Sponsorship opportunities within your social, business and local circles - I have recently sent the necessary Sponsorship Packages by email. Please put them to good use.

  2. Volunteering: make yourself available, and ask your partners and friends to assist, by volunteering to help, especially on those "high demand" days in red. A "non-availability" form will be circulated soon, and from that, a detailed Volunteer Signup List will be developed.
Remember, a financially successful show is needed to provide much-needed funds to our Service Committees - we have had two years of restricted fund-raising, resulting in cancelled or cut-back community support projects, both locally and internationally.

I am sure everyone is looking forward to a successful 2022 Camberwell Art Show so we can "do good in the world" at a level similar to pre-pandemic years.  I ask you for your on-going support.

Conference Update 2022
It was a Bridal Affair
A wonderful celebration was held on Saturday 26th to honour our young bride to be - Kemi.
All the young Rotarian girls enjoyed a High Tea with pink 'bubbles' and lots of stories, laughter and love.
Thank you so much Yvonne for opening your beautiful home and making sure everyone had enough Champaigne. Thank you also to Teresa for your help in the preparations and supplying your wonderful high tea plates.
Thank you to all Rotarians who contributed towards the gift vouchers for the happy couple.
Kerry Anne.
