Volume 69 | Issue 39 | 23rd April 2025

We gather together on the lands of the traditional custodians, the Wurundjeri people. We pay our respects to all of Melbourne’s First Peoples, to their ancestors and Elders, and to our shared future together.

Guest Speaker - Margaret Chipperfield

Margaret started life as a primary school teacher before embarking on a degree in social work at Monash University. She spent the next 25 years as a social worker, including three years working in Child Protection and some twenty years managing a range of different programs such as Foster Care, Family Counselling, Men’s Violence, Drug & Alcohol Counselling, Family Support, Residential Care and Financial Counselling.

Thirteen years ago Margaret became a co-facilitator of Men's Behaviour Change Groups at Anglicare Victoria and a long term support group for men who wanted to continue learning and growing. Margaret subsequently wrote a book “No Buts" based on these experiences.

Looking forward to seeing you back at Conochie Hall on 30th April when our Guest Speaker will be Felicity Sinfield, and her Topic will be “The Victoria Police & Rotary Leaders Mentor Program”. I will also have the pleasure of inducting a new member.

Let the Magic of Rotary continue to Create Hope in our Communities and the World!

Camberwell High School Wellbeing Hub
On 19th March our Youth and Vocation Chair Adrian Campbell advised members of the initiatives being undertaken by the committee this year. One of them was for funding for a Youth and Wellness Hub at Camberwell High. The following information has been received.

Dear Adrian & Mandy and Michael,

Please see our school’s news feed that went out just now to all of our parents, student and staff. This could not have happened without your support.
Thank you!

Have you recorded your 2025 Art Show Volunteer Commitments in your Calendar?
By now you would have received a number of Signup Confirmation emails from Alan Lorenzini. Alan has allocated you to these Shifts based on your previous availability and workload.

It's important you record these Volunteer Shifts in your diary/calendar, and if you use a digital calendar, you can click on the "event-details-ics" file at the bottom of the email - this will put the shift straight into your digital diary.

But would you like to see a list of all your Shifts in one place? Of course you would, and it's easily done:
  1. Go to our Club website. Make sure you are logged in
  2. Click on "Member's Services" on the Home Page Menu Line, and select "My ClubRunner"
  3. Select the "Commitments" option, and there are all your Volunteer Tasks listed:

So you now can check and make sure all your Shifts are in your Calendar, either manual or digital. Remember the Art Show does not function efficiently if people do not attend for their allocated Shifts.
