Special General Meeting (SGM) and Club Assembly
SGM - I was pleased that our revised Financial statement was accepted as was the Club Annual report for 2023-2024. Thanks to our Treasurer Murray Anderson and Graeme Hope for his advice.
Club Assembly – Only a couple of questions from members, which were:
- Do we continue to run four barbecues a year?
- Is Communication within the club sufficient?
It was an overwhelmingly YES to both questions which again was pleasing to hear.
Another successful barbeque was held at Bunnings Burwood on Saturday 23/11/24.
Pictured left is the afternoon crew comprising of Andy Chappell, Alan Lorenzini, David Troon, and Fabienne Nichola.
The morning crew were too busy to take photos! 😊and they were Yvonne Wills, Murray Anderson, Ian McMillan, and yours truly.
Thank you to all volunteers, barbeque Captain Nadia Hamilton, Michael Blood for his efforts and Amadini and Michelle for the chopped onions.
As discussed at the SGM the barbeque roster gets filled very quickly but it is typically the same people each time. I would encourage those members who do not participate in the barbeques and are able to do so to start participating as it is a shared responsibility, it is not a significant time impost, it’s a great fellowship activity generating valuable income for the club.
New Member/Mentor Dinner
As per the initiative of our Membership Chair Fabienne Nichola a ‘Member/Mentor’ dinner was held on Friday 22nd November at the Golden Lily Chinese Restaurant in Box Hill. We had six new members in attendance and seven existing members/mentors. It was great to also have Darren Li’s mother Donna in attendance whilst visiting from Hong Kong.
The banter around the tables suggested that everyone was enjoying each other’s company as we learnt more about each other. The delicious food just kept on coming! Thank you to Louie Yuan who assisted Fabienne to re-organise arrangements as some members were not able to attend at the last moment.
