ROTARY CAMBERWELL - UNITE FOR GOOD

This week’s reflections from President Vijay Susarla

We gather together on the lands of the traditional custodians, the Wurundjeri people. We pay our respects to all of Melbourne’s First Peoples, to their ancestors and Elders, and to our shared future together.

The Camberwell Art Show continued with gusto since the highly successful Gala night.
Artist night on Monday night 30 June was vibrant with many artists admiring their work, some of which were sold while others still available for sale. Many patrons were also in attendance and sales continued to roll in.

These nights were popular due to the added benefit, a selection of gourmet cheese and biscuits platters with a selection of alcoholic beverages of wines, bubbles and beer, for a marginally higher entry fee. Patrons’ feedback was overwhelmingly positive and the result was a few more sales.
Sales now totals a little over $220 K.

Thank you to all who have contributed to the success. Special mention to Yvonne Wills for the cheese platters, Patrick Docherty for managing the drinks bar and many others who all combine to make the Camberwell Art Show functioning like a well-oiled machine.

A huge effort will be required from members for the final stage of the Camberwell Art Show as all paintings are handed either to patrons who have purchased them and those unsold returned to the artists. As in past years, members are expected to respond to the hiatus of activity on Sunday evening 6 July and Monday morning 7 July.

Looking forward to see you all at our Club’s Changeover on the 09th July…

Vijay Susarla
