Let’s Unite for Good in our local community
and the world

This week’s reflections from President Vijay Susarla

Meeting of 16 July 2025

Two great reasons to celebrate at our club meeting. The first was “Thank God It’s Over (TGIO) after a successful Camberwell Art Show to mark its 60th year. A team of around 20 CAS volunteers were guests of the club and Murray Anderson thanked them, presenting each with a certificate and a gift.

Jon Oppy reinforced the volunteers’ contribution to what he described as the happiest art show he can remember. Importantly art show sales exceeded budget expectations, and its profitability will benefit the club’s charity activities.

The second was to celebrate the club’s Past Presidents.  A past president himself, Jon Oppy outlined an honour roll from a long list of past presidents of the club since 1956 together with the highlights of their year.

Vale Pam Anderson
Pam Anderson, wife of Peter Anderson passed away last Saturday the 12th July.   Peter was a member of the Rotary Club of Camberwell for many years. Pam had a recent illness, and it seemed to have got the better of her and passed away in her sleep.

Pam and Peter were about to celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary. Pam was 91.

She will be cremated at a private ceremony. A memorial will be held on Friday 25/7 at Wattle Park.

For more details contact Richard Gray.

Mock Job Interview 2025

It’s that time of year again, please put the dates 16 & 18 September in your diary for the Camberwell High School year 9 Mock Job Interviews. You will all be sent a Volunteer Signup Invitation shortly.

This year we have less students to interview: 64 on each day so we need 8 Desks each with 2 Interviewers, and each team will interview 8 Students over the course of the morning.

I will provide by email all the information you need for the process.

This is a call-out to all Members to create a strong presence from the Club.  Everyone enjoyed this Rotary activity last year so please volunteer when you receive the Signup List Invitation.

Any questions please contact me.
