Rotaract Zoom Meeting - 22 September 2025
Special thanks to the interest of those who attended the initial meeting on the formation of our new Rotaract club on 31 August 2025. It was a great start, and we are excited to keep the momentum going!

We are proposing an online meeting to bring more of us together, share what Rotaract is all about, and brainstorm ideas on how we shape our very own Rotaract Club. Details are:

Date: Monday, 22 September 2025
Time: 7:30 pm
What to expect:
- A quick intro/recap of what Rotaract is
- A brainstorming session on potential projects and social media
- Our next steps towards forming a club

Rotaract is all about connections, service, and fun – and we want to hear everyone’s voice in shaping it!

Please RSVP by the 10 of September by email and feel free to pass this message on to anyone you think would be interested in joining our club. A Zoom link will then be sent.
Looking forward to meeting you all!!

Cheers,

World Suicide Day

World Suicide Prevention Day is on September 10 to remember the 9 Australians lost to suicide every day and to offer hope to those in crisis. At Lifeline, we know connection can save a life. This September, we will walk in memory, in support, and in hope so that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.

OR SUPPORT ME:

We are so grateful for your support to help ensure Lifeline can provide the crucial moments of connection that help people get through their toughest times

Servants Newsletter

It’s been a season full of celebration, connection, and community at Servants.

From award wins to film premieres and market days, we’re so grateful for the many ways our community is walking alongside us.

Read through the highlights below.

Australasian Housing Institute Awards

At this month's Australasian Housing Institute VIC/TAS Brighter Future Awards, Servants was recognised with two awards:

🏆 Leading InnovationOld Walls, New Hope, for our adaptive reuse of under-utilised buildings like ex-nursing homes and heritage mansions.

🏆 Leading Community Engagement Practice – recognising the impact of For The Love of Good, our social enterprise producing honey and sparkling apple juice.
It was a colourful, hope-filled night celebrating the people and ideas shaping social, affordable, and community housing. Congratulations to all nominees and winners!

Love in the Walls at Cinema Nova

On August 6th, our documentary Love in the Walls premiered at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival.
The film received two awards; Best Melbourne Film and Best Emerging Director (Samuel Kostevc), reflecting the care with which our residents’ stories were told.
We’re now offering private screenings for organisations, community groups, and networks wanting to learn more about our compassionate, relationship-driven housing model. Reach out to us at info@servants.org.au if you'd like to learn more.

A Strategic Start to the Financial Year

On July 1st, staff shared how they’ll bring our 2025–2027 Strategic Plan to life. It was encouraging to see the skills, passion, and organisation of each person shaping our future together.

For The Love of Good at Hawthorn Makers Market

Our For The Love of Good stall at the Hawthorn Makers Market was buzzing with colour and conversation. We loved sharing our honey and sparkling apple juice with the local community, and we're so thankful for their support!

Walk Towards Home is back in October!

Save the dates in your calendars! Our annual Walk Towards Home fundraiser is almost here:
  • 1st – 10th October: Challenge Week 🏃
  • 11th October: Walk Together community event 📢
Keep an eye out for sign-up details coming very soon. 👀
Additionally, if you'd like to volunteer your time and skills at our Walk Together event on October 11th, please reply to this email.

Every achievement reflects the strength of our broader community, encouraging everyone at Servants to keep pushing for excellence in everything we do.
Thank you for walking with us as we continue to foster safe, affordable, and hope-filled homes.
