In place of our dinner meeting on Thursday 8th May twenty two of our club members and partners attended North Balwyn’s 45th Anniversary at the Green Acres Golf Club. We are the Grand Parent of the North Balwyn Club. There were over 100 guests which included representatives from the Parent Club (Balwyn). Great to see three of our new members in attendance. Not all who attended are pictured due to late arrival.

We were entertained by Greg Ross and another club member who sang a song, which I am at a loss to remember and also entertained by the fabulous singing DG Michael Lapina.
Tower Hotel – Wednesday 28th May
We are going to have a second run at the Tower Hotel. The event costs are the same as last time which is $40.00 for dinner, dessert, and a welcome drink.
I understand that the PA system is new and there will be and extra speaker and another microphone available. Also, it has been working perfectly at other functions when you speak into the microphone. I would encourage members who were not available last time to attend as we would like to decide on the suitability of the venue for our club meetings.
See you at Conochie Hall on 14th May. Our guest speakers are coming all the way from Cambodia to thank us for our contribution to a WASH project which was also contributed to by a District Grant.

Wednesday 14th May - Update on the Kampong Thom Project by Mr. Ho Sivuthy (Thy) & Mr. Vann Narith (Narit) all the way from Cambodia. A Rotary District Grant partly funded this project.
Wednesday 21st May – Jackie Gatt from the Hawthorn Arts Centre will give us an update on the Arts Centre Community & Cultural Programming
Saturday 24th May – The club will hold a BBQ at Bunnings Hawthorn. Interested members should register
Wednesday 28th May – Mel Key from Education Chances will be our guest speaker. This event is likely to be held at the Tower Hotel.
Sunday 1st June – Hawthorn Makers Market
Wednesday 4th June – Art Show Sponsors Night
Wednesday 11th June – Member Victor Wang will deliver a Member Behind the Badge presentation
By now you would have received a number of Signup Confirmation emails from Alan Lorenzini. Alan has allocated you to these Shifts based on your previous availability and workload.
It's important you record these Volunteer Shifts in your diary/calendar, and if you use a digital calendar, you can click on the "event-details-ics" file at the bottom of the email - this will put the shift straight into your digital diary.
But would you like to see a list of all your Shifts in one place? Of course you would, and it's easily done:
Go to our Club website. Make sure you are logged in
Click on "Member's Services" on the Home Page Menu Line, and select "My ClubRunner"
Select the "Commitments" option, and there are all your Volunteer Tasks listed:
So you now can check and make sure all your Shifts are in your Calendar, either manual or digital. Remember the Art Show does not function efficiently if people do not attend for their allocated Shifts.
