Congratulations to Kemi & Olu on their wedding last weekend:
Next week we have our very own member Kerry Anne, presenting on team Vista.
Kerry Anne is Director of a small project, auspiced by Global Development Group, a non government organisation (NGO) called Team Vista, located in Moshi, Tanzania in the Kaloleni Ward. The ward surrounds the town’s rubbish dump, and Team Vista’s goal is to elevate the children’s living standard through helping them understand the value of education and also enable them to be protected from abuse and manipulation.
Kerry Anne became involved through her son, who went to teach for a year in Moshi not long after she was widowed. By visiting her son there during his stay, Kerry Anne became deeply involved with the NGO and how it is carrying out humanitarian projects with approved partners and providing aid to relieve poverty.
Did You Know 1 - We have been offered 2 Bunnings BBQ’s: May 28th and June 18th. Plenty of warning and both are Saturdays. Please add these dates to your diary and come and join in the fun and friendship at Bunnings Hawthorn. Interested in volunteering - please contact Lyndon Joss.
Did You Know 2 - New member induction for Andy Chappell has been scheduled for the 25th May
Did You Know 3 - Our club’s contribution to the Flood Appeal held at the Camberwell Sunday market on March 27
th was $3,226.46.
These donations were combined with the net profit for the day and will be forwarded to the Treasurer at RC Balwyn. The RAWCS Flood appeal will receive an amount of $20,000 as a result of our efforts at the market and an additional top-up from RC Balwyn. A great result and a terrific example of the Cluster working together for a strong outcome.
Have a good week in Rotary
