Let’s Unite for Good in our local community
and the world

This week’s reflections from President Vijay Susarla
Meeting of 23 July 2025

The Club was saddened to hear of the passing of revered past member Malcolm Munro, a President of the Club 1990 – 1991.  Malcolm received a Paul Harris Ruby 2009-2010.  His contributions and friendship will be remembered by Club members.  Funeral details will be advised as soon as they are available.

The highlight of the meeting was the presentation from the Rotary Outreach Myeloma Program (ROMP) team.  Presentations were made by Peter Allen, Adrian Campbell and Trish O’Hara.

The team delivered a comprehensive overview of ROMP’s history, vision, purpose and planned activities.  Initially Victoria based and now extended nationally, the core focus of ROMP is to provide fully funded scholarships in cancer nursing to improve outcomes for patients in regional communities.  So far, a total of 7 scholarships have been awarded.  The team reaches out to Rotary Clubs to provided support for families in the communities who are living with Myeloma through its program.

The Community Services Committee is again running a Winter Clothing appeal for St Vincent's de Paul in Camberwell.  Winter Items will be donated to "in need" members of our community.  Don’t forget to bring your donations to next meeting 30th July at Conochie Hall, Canterbury.

Next meeting on Wed. 30th July we will be discussing and voting on the change of venue.  Please do attend the Club meeting as this would be a critical move for our Club.

Mock Job Interview 2025

It’s that time of year again, please put the dates 16 & 18 September in your diary for the Camberwell High School year 9 Mock Job Interviews. You will all be sent a Volunteer Signup Invitation shortly.

This year we have less students to interview: 64 on each day so we need 8 Desks each with 2 Interviewers, and each team will interview 8 Students over the course of the morning.

I will provide by email all the information you need for the process.

This is a call-out to all Members to create a strong presence from the Club.  Everyone enjoyed this Rotary activity last year so please volunteer when you receive the Signup List Invitation.
