This year there are 77 Year 9 students at Camberwell High who took the compulsory study subject exploring life after school re jobs and ambitions. They learnt how to write a Cover Letter and Resume and answer a (mock up) advertisement of their Vocation choice out of 26 Vocations. We interviewed 40 students on Day 1 and 33 students on Day 2. This is the third year of running this course and the Year 9 Co-ordinators have done a splendid job as the students work was better than past years. Congratulations to all the students as the interviews were highly successful and we interviewed many amazing young students. Morning Tea was held in the large Staff Room for us and the school Canteen baked fresh warm cake for us and a platter of cut fruit. We are looked after very well and the school is grateful for our involvement each year. This event is always a lot of work-although it gets easier to plan for it each year. We all fill out Feedback sheets which we write up when with the student - this is then given to the teachers to discuss with each student. I would like to thank all the Volunteers who took time to read which students they were going to interview and the student's work to assist in asking relevant questions for them to answer. Interviews are only 10 minutes with the next 3 minutes for feedback with the student. The next 2 minutes are for gathering the work for the next interview. Many thanks to Murray Anderson, who assists me in the layout of the interview rosters etc, and to Chris Don, Pierre Kriegler, Lyndon Joss, David Chu, Alan Lorenzini, Gary Goldsmith, David Troon and Michael Blood (our time-keeper) who sat in the middle of the room and gonged the Rotary Bell using a timber hammer.
