The evening of Wednesday of 14 February 2024 was the FORaMeal packing night. It is a rewarding all club activity together with their family and friends who packed in excess of 14,000 food packs as emergency relief meals for those impacted by natural disasters. A project of our sister club Canterbury Rotary Club, it has become a much-anticipated annual club event. 23 members and 20 guests attended the night.
Each year over 250,000 meals are packed by Rotarians and volunteers to vulnerable individuals and families across the Asia Pacific region in times of disaster. To date, over 800,000 meals have been distributed free of charge.
Thank you to all who attended including a number of Justine Paragreen work colleagues, prospective members Victor Wang and Amadini Perera. Special mention to Matt Britten and Janet Mok who attended this Rotary event for the first time immediately following their membership enquiry. Our gratitude for coordinating this successful event goes to the Community Committee chaired by Jo-Anne Tamlyn.
