We gather together on the lands of the traditional custodians, the Wurundjeri people. We pay our respects to all of Melbourne’s First Peoples, to their ancestors and Elders, and to our shared future together.

Presidential Press
We had our third trial at the Tower Hotel, and I am pleased to say that the PA system was a lot better than previously experienced. The food from my perspective is of great quality and the venue is appropriate for the Rotary Club of Camberwell as it gives us most of what we need. Thank you to Patrick and his team for sourcing the venue.
As Daya said not only are we now on Camberwell Road but that junction gives us great exposure to the community. If anyone has any feedback as to why we would not go there then they need to advise Daya or Patrick as a decision needs to be made asap given we are approaching a new Rotary Year.
It was my last official Dinner meeting, and it is unbelievable that the last two years have gone by so quickly. I have enjoyed my time officiating each week and hopefully have kept up the standards of the past but in a more relaxed manner. Thank you for your attendance and participation.
This is not my last Presidential Press, and I wish to remind members that it is not and never has been My Bulletin but is the Club Bulletin to which all members can and should contribute. I look forward to reading them in the future.
See you next week at Swinburne University for a bite to eat at 6.00 pm as we work through setting up the 60th Camberwell art Show.
Let the Magic of Rotary continue to Create Hope in our Communities and the World!
Club member Adrian Campbell was the guest speaker at LifeBlood's National Donor Week
headquarters in West Melbourne.
Invited guests were acknowledged given their remarkable blood/plasma donations - most had made over 100 donations, with one women making 600 donations.
Wow !
Adrian also thanked the blood donors - and shared his Myeloma blood cancer journey with them - a fight that includes regularly receiving blood and platelets.
Over 30% of donated blood in Australia goes to cancer patients
At the end of the presentation, Adrian said 'I am just one patient, with one cancer, in one city - but there are thousands of me across Australia that need/rely on blood to keep living - so a sincere thank you for your remarkable blood donations '
On Wednesday, 18 June 2025 the 2025 Boroondara Equation event was held at Kew Golf Club. This is the second year Boroondara council has invited the club to this event. It is a networking event bringing together local businesses and not‑for‑profit leaders in the Boroondara community. This year the Keynote speaker was Troy Crellin, representing the Killara Foundation. His address focussed on his organisation’s collaboration and the resulting positive community outcomes across a range of disadvantaged groups.
A panel of four local business and not for profit individuals were also introduced. Each of the panel members were connecting with the local community in a unique way. Their belief is that their work is enriched when the community is benefitting from their support outside the business. They all agreed their community connection had a positive impact on their overall well-being. The event provided insights of how business professional and local community leaders are successfully creating meaningful and lasting impacts in the community.
On Tuesday 17 June 2025, a multi-Rotary club event took place at the Boroondara Arts Centre on the topic of ‘Breaking the Silence on Men’s Health.'
A gathering of around 50 attendees were welcomed by Mayor Sophie Torney as she opened the event. The mayor reinforced the importance of this topic following Men’s health week and outlined a number of initiatives undertaken by Boroondara Council to tackle men’s health concerns.
The main presenters were Simon von Saldern, CEO and Director of ‘Healthy Male’, Associate Professor Tim Moss who is an expert content creator at Healthy Male and Alan White is a passionate advocate for men’s health.
‘Heathy Male’ which was founded in 2000 by Professor David de Kretser, who later becoming Governor of Victoria. He recognised a gap in support for the wellbeing of Australian boys and men.
Since its early days, Healthy Male has become a trusted source of information and facilitator of action on men’s health collaborating with the various communities, health professionals, researchers, peak bodies, partner agencies and government.
The presentation identified five male health priorities (not in order of importance) which formed the basis of the Federal Government, National Men's Health Strategy 2020-2030:
Mental health
Chronic conditions, including cancers
Sexual and reproductive health and conditions where men are over-represented
We have just been advised that emails are being sent out from - "from the Clubrunner platform" - to other Rotary members with wording
"Do you probably have a few minutes to spare today? I'll be needing you to help me with a task discreetly. Best Regards Mikaela"
if you respond, the response will be along something like this:
"I'm so tied up right now, can you purchase an Apple gift card 5 pieces -"$100 each at any nearby store?
I would reimburse you when I am through later today. I would have preferred to call you but can't receive or call at the moment with my line let me know if you can purchase them now."
The email address this came from is not a genuine clubrunner email but they do give the appearance of coming from an actual Rotary member, in this case Mikaela, and was sent to another member of her club.
Please be very careful if you get anything like this and ring the person it is supposed to be from to verify they have sent it before responding.
I will be contacting Clubrunner to investigate the issue.
By now you would have received a number of Signup Confirmation emails from Alan Lorenzini. Alan has allocated you to these Shifts based on your previous availability and workload.
It's important you record these Volunteer Shifts in your diary/calendar, and if you use a digital calendar, you can click on the "event-details-ics" file at the bottom of the email - this will put the shift straight into your digital diary.
But would you like to see a list of all your Shifts in one place? Of course you would, and it's easily done:
Go to our Club website. Make sure you are logged in
Click on "Member's Services" on the Home Page Menu Line, and select "My ClubRunner"
Select the "Commitments" option, and there are all your Volunteer Tasks listed:
So you now can check and make sure all your Shifts are in your Calendar, either manual or digital. Remember the Art Show does not function efficiently if people do not attend for their allocated Shifts.
If any members are interested in attending District Changeover, please make a booking and advise the President. We can organise a table or two so we can all sit together.
