Last week our granddaughter Zoe (18) and our neighbour's son Ethan (21) spent a week at Camp Getaway with 19 other young people, 18 years and over. RYLA stands for "Rotary Youth Leader Awards" and we saw these two at the dinner mid week, at the closing ceremony on Saturday and then drove them home.
At the Dinner
What a week of growing, learning, courage, bravery, introspection, friendship, challenge, laughter and tears. Those leading the transformation had been RYLA participants in past years - with assistance from trained and experienced leaders. Both Zoe and Ethan came away with new understanding of themselves and others.
Graduation Day
We plan to have them visit one of our weekly meetings in 2025 to share their amazing experiences. The photos will represent some of the life at RYLA. Thanks to our Club for sponsoring these two remarkable adults.
