On Wednesday 22nd October ROMP Committee members and a number of Camberwell Rotarians and partners went on a road trip to Shepparton.
The purpose of the trip was to talk with our Rotary country colleagues in a multi club event about ROMP and what they could do to assist us. The President of Shepparton South Meg Pethybridge gave her regular meeting over to us, so it was chaired by yours truly and the presentation was conducted by Peter Allen.
There were eighty five attendees (including one baby) from clubs in the Goulburn region being Shepparton South, Shepparton, Shepparton Central, Mooroopna and Kyabram. The presentation was very well received, and we are hopeful to receive some support from the region towards funding of scholarships as we have in the past.
We also had representation from the local paper and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of The Greater City of Shepparton in Cr Shane Sali and his deputy Anthony Brophy.

Our message certainly resonated with the audience based on the questions received and comments made during our presentation and is a great template for other regional visits.
At the end of our presentation a painting by Plein Air artist Raymond Hill (pic right) was auctioned to raise funds for our ROMP initiative.
As a Plein Air Artist Raymond paints on location producing works true to the colour of the surroundings and has had many exhibitions both in Australia and overseas. Raymond lives locally and has a studio/gallery at his address and also teaches.
